Loving Intelligently.

‘Loving Intelligently’
The intellect I hold in such esteem,
Great learning thereby to acquire.
Yet for all that ‘tis my mind’s theme,
That you alone are my world entire. How so that such dull grey porridge
That squishily within this skull lodges,
For scraps of what’s true does forage,
All the while images of you conjures? My love for you is a love intelligent,
And like intelligent things is eternal,
Oh joy that all my thinking is spent
On loving you that is truth’s kernel. Oh happily to have a mind unbound,
On great things can it contemplate.
Yet for all I ponder, thoughts abound
On my love for you to consummate.
